This announcement by Lamar changes nothing. The Ravens already made their move. They did the non-exclusive tag and told Lamar to go find his deal. Lamar's desire for a trade means nothing and changes nothing as there has to be someone willing to sign Lamar to his # and give the Ravens two 1sts. Does this team exist? If it doesn't the outcome remains the same. He plays under the 32 mil #, or not.

its exactly what they did. Though Lamar setting up the announcement coinciding perfectly with Harbaughs press event today was intentional I'm sure to get him on the spot answering questions.

What rules did Lamar break? If the Ravens can leak their narrative that Lamar is going to be back and it's all great then why can't Lamar give his views? Neither side broke any rules. Negotiations were at a stand still. This gets things moving again.

agreed - should have made it public when they tagged him. It's not going to move the needle now

Well not "official" rules, but unwritten rules that you don't talk the specifics of the negotiation and numbers in public. It looks bad to do so and Ravens won't be unprofessional just because he decided to be.

I disagree. Now the Ravens have to respond.

If they say they that they won't look to trade Lamar then they've killed any chance for an offer sheet since it will confirm that the Ravens will match. Then Lamar is going to threaten a hold out.

If they say that will honor Lamar's request then who ever was looking into Lamar will contact the Ravens because they're going to want to figure this out before the draft and have a shot at an outside the offersheet type deal.

Either way the Ravens have to say something which is going to have consequences

I just wish he had said this right after the tag
100 percent agree. It's why he could have used an agent...this public declaration should have been done as soon as the team officially placed the tag on him. At least the Agent would have been pro-actically calling teams letting them know Lamar wants a trade.

This needs to happen to get the ball rolling...no matter which way it rolls, hopefully it gets moving quickly.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Who do you think leaked the offer details to ESPN last August? Who do you think has been leaking the Ravens guaranteed money offers since the season ended? It came right from the Ravens. Just because they're more sophisticated than the player and didn't tweet from their account didn't mean they weren't doing it. Teams and then agents do this all the time. That's how we know the step by step negotiations with Daniel Jones and Saquan Barkley. We even heard about the whole dispute when Joe Flacco went though this more than a decade ago. This is how the negotiation game works. In this case though its more clumsy because Lamar doesn't have an agent but it's no different than us hearing that Flacco demanded $20 million a season and the Ravens wouldn't go past $19 back in 2012.

I dont think theres anything saying that was the Ravens. It could have been any of the 3 involved and any part of those 3. Ravens, Lamar and the NFLPA. Desosta has come out and said the NFLPA released information he didnt want out there (I believe the contract Rappaport or Schefter claimed to have seen). I see no reason to think that stopped. theyre trying to make the Ravens look bad, by it not being fully guaranteed. thats well within their narrative to do so. Ravens dont really gain from their offer being known.
