Because ya'll think we're going to draft one or find that out of a dumpster in August. Ya'll are delusional.

    Re: 2023 Annual Forking

Just looking at who is a pending FA and who could save $$$ against the cap...

    Retirees [Tentative]
    Calais Campbell - $9.4M Cap Hit | $2.4M Dead | $7M Savings

    List of free agents (RFA=*)
    Marcus Peters
    Justin Houston
    Kyle Fuller
    Lamar Jackson
    Ja'Wuan James
    Sammy Watkins
    Jason Pierre-Paul
    Brent Urban
    Josh Oliver
    Kenyan Drake
    Demarcus Robinson
    Vince Biegel
    Kevin Seymour
    Trystan Colon-Castillo*
    Kristian Welch*
    Geno Stone*
    Tyler Huntley*
    Nick Moore*
    Justice Hill
    Ben Powers
    Del'Shawn Phillips

    Cap Casualties [Potential]
    Kevin Zeitler - $9.4M Cap Hit | $2.9M Dead | $6M Savings
    Tyus Bowser - $6.5M Cap Hit | $4M Dead | $2.5M Savings
    Michael Pierce - $6M Cap Hit | $3.8M Dead | $2.2M Savings
    Chuck Clark - $6.3M Cap Hit | $2.6M Dead | $4M Savings
    Morgan Moses - $5.5M Cap Hit | $2.9M Dead | $2.6M Savings
    Pat Ricard - $3.9M Cap Hit | $2.3M Dead | $1.6M Savings
    Gus Edwards - $5.6M Cap Hit | $1.2M Dead | $4.4M Savings

    -------------
Out of all the players mentioned above, the RFA's are guaranteed to come back because they're inexpensive and it's an easy transaction. So, TCC, Welch, Stone, Snoop, and Moore will all be back.

I believe they will try to re-sign Marcus Peters. I believe they will try to keep Kenyan Drake and Demarcus Robinson as veteran depth.

The tough decisions are going to come with the cap casualties.

Given how well the OL has played, letting Zeitler go would be foolish, particularly because Ben Powers will likely leave via free agency. We have John Simpson, Pat Mekari, and Ben Cleveland, who can all play guard. Signing John Simpson was a forward-looking acquisition in preparation for Ben Powers leaving via free agency.

I do not believe letting Bowser go for $2.5M in savings is smart. Extending Bowser and knocking down that cap hit would be more advantageous.

Chuck Clark and Gus Edwards should garner some trade interest. They're not going to command a ton of high draft picks, but both are solid starters. The Ravens could get a mid-round (4-6) pick for each of them.

Pat Ricard's cap savings is only $1.6M, which isn't enough to warrant losing a good player and locker room guy.

That leaves Morgan Moses and Michael Pierce.

Cutting Moses indicates they are comfortable with Pat Mekari or Daniel Faalele at RT. Frankly, Mekari should have been their starter at RT anyway. I like Moses, but I thought signing him wasn't necessary.

Broderick Washington played well this season, and Travis Jones started every game at DT once he was healthy. Pierce has also missed a lot of games in the last two years. I'd offer him a significant pay cut to stay with the team, but I would release him at his current price.
