Climate Change - Do you worry?

I am on another board which is a discord for YT creator who reviews a lot of horror and on one of the threads they got railing on climate change/global warming. They were using the Texas grid collaps a few years ago as an indication of that. I said it's just weather and that in my life the worst storm I lived through, the worst drought, the worst heat waves and cold snaps happened over 30 years ago. I talked about Agnes. I put it in perspectie using time. Agnes was 50 years ago. Go back another 50 and you are in the time of the Model T. Go back 25 and the Galveston storm. I talked about how development patterns have made storm impacts worse but that I personally did not worry much about global warming.

So my main point to them, who I saw really getting worked up about it, was I personally did not worry about it.

Well they didn't like that. I felt like the mod/fouder, was maybe coucing it as a moral issue regarding it's impact on poor disposessed (i.e. other poor brown people) and trying to make it a racial issue. I said in so many words I did not think it was a racial issue and it's impact or lack of impact on poor yucky brown people from somehwere else wouldn't make me feel any more or less concerned about it.

I really have something bordering on pity for anyone who genuinely worries so much about global warming/climate change. Someone for whom that is a thing they are really emotionally invested and then looking at every weather event and blaming it on global warming i.e. CA rains/floods, the freeze that took down the TX grid, hurricanes, tornados, erosion etc..

I brushed them back by positing I was fairly certain I'd probably planted more trees in the last year than anyone on the board but the mod came back saying the problem was too big for that to make a difference. Sigh.

The whole thing got me wondering. In your hierarchy of worry, where does global warming/climate change fall? For me it's pretty low. That may be for selfish reasons, like having a shorter event horizon for expiration from this rock but I have kids so I don't think that's it. I worry more about them starting their careers, finding partners, started families, being healthy and happy etc.. and climate change still isn't really even in the picture.

I have zero worry about climate change. The climate has been changing forever and will continue to change forever.

Chuck this grenade into the discussion over there and then watch them run around on fire while their heads explode- https://youtu.be/7P5RW0Tmp-U

Heard a conspiracy the powers that be will use this issue in an attmept to form a hive mind NWO socialist state and ironically enough, everyone in the end may in fact get that horrible "climate".

    This.
The climate is cyclical with 110k year cycle. As you can see CO2 levels have continued to shoot up while the temps have stabilized as we have likely peaked.

Also, the dirty little secret of global warming is that the warm times are the best for humanity as they increase the usable land mass in the northern hemisphere for living and farming.

My thermostat in the winter is set at 67 degrees, hardly toasty, but I still use 3 times the amount of electricity in the winter to heat my home as opposed to cooling my home in the summer. Isn't that a good thing? So far Obama's oceanfront property in Hawaii and Martha's Vineyard are still above water, so why the fuss? We all know it's all about control. It always has been and always will be. It's the easiest way to hurt this and other countries economies and bring on their new world order, run by the elite hypocrites.

Obviously 1 day doesn't make up climate change, but some crazy temps and wind chills last night.
New Hampshire’s Mount Washington felt more like Mars than planet Earth on Friday as wind chills dipped below an unfathomable minus 110 degrees, a new record for the coldest wind chill ever recorded in the US.

If the wealthy are still buying up waterfront properties why are we worrying. They are also the ones financing all the alternative energy sources. So more money for them.

I don't worry about climate change at all and I see raging hypocrisy emanating from the loudest voices selling 'lower your carbon footprint'.... When I read the Old Testament and see kings or a nation that rejected Him, drought, famine, pestilence, doom and more come upon them. We see a large segment of Western Society that has evicted God out of the public systems and is attempting to remove Him from the public and private sector. It will never happen, try as they may. We are ruled by wicked people.

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan. - Proverbs 29:2

God will not be mocked by these folks, in fact He laughs and holds them in derision...... and I laugh with Him when I read Psalm 2.

It's fine if some or all think different, I'm just sharing my thoughts.
A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins. - Benjamin Franklin

As most of you know, I am a medievalist. We know for a fact that it was hotter during the Little Optimum than it is now. What happened when it got colder, you ask? Well, it's happened twice in recorded history and both times it wiped completely altered society by killing about half of it.

The Justinian plague of 541-542 CE was preceded a drastic drop in global temperature, most likely caused by volcanic activity. The results were devastating.
"Dry fogs spawned by large volcanic eruptions cool the climate by partially blocking incident sunlight and perturbing atmospheric circulation patterns." ". Famine and disease pandemics ensued, with the epidemics in all cases reaching the Mediterranean area within 1 to 5 years after the eruptions. In at least five cases, the contagion responsible for the mass mortality was probably plague."
    https://pubs.giss.nasa.gov/docs/1999...s_st00200p.pdf

We have first hand accounts of what happened prior to the Great Mortality (Black Death for you non-nerds). It was basically Hell without the fire. Torrential rains washed away the top soil. Animals starved on their feet. Entire fishing villages disappeared over night. And famine. Famine is bad for adults, but children who are born to women during times of famine suffer weakened immunity systems their entire lives. Plague being brought over from the steppes of Asia ran rampant, killing millions.
