Years ago I was doing some consulting work with CSX, headquartered right on the river in downtown JAX. I was able to attend a few MNF and TNF Jaguars games with free tickets back in those days. I certainly would never have paid to see the likes of JAX-HOU or JAX-TEN out of my own pocket. Actually come to think of it, one time I did buy a ticket for a MNF game out of pocket. It was $11 for a lower end zone seat, and that ticket came with a voucher for a 20 oz microbrew. Duke's Cold Nose.. Man, that's a tasty brew right there. But I digress.. JAX always attracts a pro-Ravens crowd. In 2011, I attended the game where we must have had 25k Ravens fans on the Ravens side alone. We lost the game because our offense was so pathetic. Flacco in particular was awful. Hard to believe he hoisted a Lombardi a few months after that dud.

There's really no reason why we shouldn't beat that stuffing out of JAX, but... they've stayed in most of their games this year, losing a few by 7 points or less. And we know how Ravens games this season tend to go. The spread for this game is -4.5 and I think Vegas has it spot on. Once again we should probably win this game by a TD or more, but we won't close it out until late in the 4th. What else is new...

Ravens 20-17 Jags

Ravens get things going a bit better on offense in the sunnier Florida weather. But flaws still remain, mostly because Stanley is once again out injured and Mekari is overmatched against Jags Edge guys. Still with the return of Gus, along with Andrews being out there and D Rob emerging, we put up enough points to make it easier on the defense.

On defense I expect the Ravens to have another good game where the Jags are forced to rely on their QB because the Ravens completely shut Ethiene down. Because of this I see the Ravens being up by 10 in the 4th quarter once again, but their young QB starts putting up points and yards while trying to get a 4th quarter comeback only to fail by throwing a pick in a key moment of the final stages of the game. He throws a pick to Roquon.

My cardiologist won't be happy as he told me my high blood pressure was due to being a Ravens fan. Unfortunately, he's right but I can't quit. Since it's an addiction, I wonder if there's a 12-step program? At any rate, I see this as another nail biter (I have none left at this point in the season) even with a slim victory :
