Chiefs ban STANDING at Arrowhead!
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shu...?urn=nfl,91291
Article sez:
"Seriously, standing erect is the No. 2 item on the list of things that are prohibited:
• Standing and/or obstructing the view of other fans"
But at the Chiefs site http://www.kcchiefs.com/arrowhead/policies/
it's slightly different:
"• Excessive standing and/or obstructing the view of other fans"
Either way, they better never try this at M&T."Well, I'd rather live with the hound dogs, for the rest of my natural-born life." Swamp Music by Lynyrd Skynyrd

Re: Chiefs ban STANDING at Arrowhead!
This is much ado about nothing. The Chiefs are merely articulating which fans' rights prevail: those who want to watch the game without obstruction trump those who wish to obstruct.
I hate to break it to you, but this already is the practice at our Stadium. I sit in the first row -- whenever fans behind us have complained, SAFE guards informed us that we have to sit down. The Ravens already have a similar policy posted on the big board prior to each game, which states "Don't be a Jerk!".
We have learned the technique to not piss off those behind us: stand up to make noise when the opposing Offense is in the huddle, then sit down and keep yelling when the huddle is broken. Nobody complains anymore, and we make as much noise as anyone standing during the play and obstructing views. In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Mista is right.
Here is the rule, according to the Ravens recent fan guide:
"You should expect ... fellow fans who celebrate the Ravens and the NFL experience, but who do not interfere with other fans enjoyment of the game"

Re: Chiefs ban STANDING at Arrowhead!
I would assume that the rules the Chiefs have are basic rules that most teams, if not all, have for their fan guides. I know it's hard to believe, but some people don't get the fun out of getting up, yelling, hollering, standing and jumping around (no pun intended...okay, maybe a little )
There's an article of the Chief's fan guide that did kinda bother me. You can text the SAFE people anonymously and have a person removed if you see they are a disturbance. This rule could be abused in such a way that it utterly ridiculous. I can see people with away jerseys being escorted out by some fan that takes the sport way too seriously and thinks that everyone there should be rooting for HIS team. I think that needs to be thought over

If I were building a stadium I wouldn't put chairs for people to sit in.
That or I'd make them as uncomfortable as possible so they were almost forced to stand.
Freakin pansy wine-and-cheesers ruin it for the hardcore fans...

Mista T. and Houston Raven are right. The rules are already in place at M & T Bank stadium. Furthermore, common sense should prevail. I only stand when everyone else stands and I am not blocking the person in back of me's view. Fortunately, most people in my section respect that and there have only been a few times that I have had to ask someone to sit down because everyone else was doing likewise. Like it or not, those are the rules.

Re: Chiefs ban STANDING at Arrowhead!
I have knee issues that make it IMPOSSIBLE to stand the entire game, I sit on the seat back or the guy in front of me told me to tap him and he stands to one side.

If everyone stands on every defensive play like you are supposed to then it wouldn't be an issue. Luckily I sit at the very top of my section so I do stand every single defensive play.
