This, in my opinion, is very bad timing. If (and this is a big if) local elections are fair, Republicans had a chance of gaining some seats in Congress with the way the country is going under Biden. Now, the left will have a rallying cry to keep (or switch) seats to their advantage. It also gives Biden more reason to start packing the court.

They're not packing the court without eliminating the filibuster.

And the economy, inflation etc. is way more important than pro-choice to people right now.

And if this is the price we have to pay, oh well.

I believe most people will not even notice a difference after this ruling. Certainly Maryland won't change a lick. It's the left trying to rally their base over what is mainly a nothing burger.

It is a disaster for women's rights in states that are red surrounded by other red states. There are women who cannot afford to drive (or who have cars) to go multiple states away for an abortion. So they will do it unsafely now.

A great reason for the alleged president to start drilling for oil. Babies blood for oil.

Please just admit you understand that adding justices until you get the amount and balance you want above the current number, which is what Democrats want to do, is what has always been commonly understood as "court packing".

This is based on a premise that most people are pro choice. I dont think that is the case. IMO Most people feel there should be at least some restrictions on abortion. All this ruling really does it let states decide what restrictions to put on abortion if any

I hope that is how it is understood moving forward, because current perception is not in that vein.

Nonsense scare tactic. The Mississippi law that was reviewed in this case allows for abortion up to 15 weeks. A red state surrounded by fed states.

But they want 40 weeks to decide….
