Then, to compound matters, teams continued blitzing the Ravens in the subsequent few games, and the Ravens offense still did not have an answer.

That lack of ability to make in-game adjustments and very poor situational play calling are ample reasons to move on from Roman and Harbaugh. I include Harbaugh in that too, because a HC should be able to correct the mistakes his staff are making, but Harbaugh is either unwilling or unable to do that.
The Ravens had the best record in the NFL, and then Lamar got hurt.

Interestingly, what we saw this year, at the beginning of the season, might be the equivalent to what the Ravens might be like if they're giving a whole lot of money to Lamar. Lamar is there, but the talent is thinner. The Ravens wouldn't strip any position group bare, like RB, but there won't be as much talent. What we saw in the Lamar games, the first half of the year, were wins. Even without the talent of 2019, the Ravens won.

And what we saw at the end of the season, is what happens without Lamar, which is losses. The story, the lesson, is keep Lamar. The Ravens should also think about upgrading their backup QB, to one that can win a game, if not as good as Lamar.

That is who should scare you
Villaneuva was 10 PFF points better than both Tyre Phillips and Ben Cleveland.

    Villaneuva had 65.2 PFF
    Phillips had 53.1 PFF
    Cleveland had 55.8 PFF

Villanueva was about the same as Powers 66.3 and Mekari 66.1.

So, I'd say that, based on PFF, Phillips and Cleveland were bad,
Villanueva, Powers and Mekari were mediocre, and Bozeman (73.3) was good but not great, and Zeitler was 10th out of 83 among guards with a 76.4 PFF, so top half of good.

Overall, the Ravens do not have a good oline. And Juwuan James is not the answer.

Yes to all of this. James saves $3,000,000 with a measly $250,000 in dead cap. December 23, 2018 and December 30, 2018 was the last time he played consecutive weeks. Not to mention he's only played three additional games since December 30, 2018.

Villanova saves $6M ... Powers saves $2.5M with less than $200,000 in dead cap.

Phillips sucks but Cleveland was a rookie guard. The left tackle position being average is far worse than any of your guards being below average.

The offense played nearly 100 snaps (98) on Sunday then traveled to MIA on three days rest and played another game. They hit 97 snaps in 2019 div round (but that was mostly going no huddle while trying to come back in Q3 and Q4 and they didn't have to play a game after that). Outside of that game, they haven't crossed 82 snaps since I started charting in 2019 (averaged ~73 snaps per game in 2021 if MIN is excluded). In short, they played a ton more than they were used to (~25%), then had to travel on short rest with little practice time. Despite MIA's 2-7 record entering that game, I was not confident they could win that game. It simply wasn't a fair matchup (abolish TNF).

I hadn't thought about the cumulative effect of that week though, that's an interesting idea. I assumed the mini-bye would be enough for them to get back to normal, but that might not be true. Notably, Lamar missed the next game against the Bears with a non-COVID illness. I'm sure the excessive exertion he did in those four days contributed to weakening his immune system (especially for a guy who claims "I usually don't get sick, for real").

As for the idea that GRo was to blame for not beating the MIA blitz, I suggest you re-watch the game. Hard to blame the OC for faulty execution (balls batted at the line, drops, WRs not knowing the play, OL not blocking, that game had it all). Not going to blame the players either though. Asking them to play on short rest after playing 1.25 games on Sunday is stupid and quite frankly, dangerous. (Also, Jevon Holland is very good.)

Agree. I love Saint Lamar, but kid needs up his game. Throw to the sidelines and wideouts and not key on Andrews 24/7. Stop holding on to the ball for ever when your line is Swiss Cheese. Lastly, knock off the juvenile head slap every time you fuck up. That is starting to piss me off to no end. Mannerisms convey a lot. Grow up Lamar.

His shit play and bad decisions stood out more to me than any other performance.

Receivers under 6 feet who can't win one on one coverage battles scare me more. Bateman can do that but Hollywood can't.

That would be bad business though. There’s no point of paying james to rehab here and then cutting him without seeing him play. That would be awful. You have to keep him and Villanueva at least through the preseason.

For sure, but if they're not guaranteed prior to the season started...
