Why Matt Nagy and Brian Flores Should Take Jobs With The Ravens: Fired Coaches Career Rebound

Just want to compare to how the Ravens rehabilitated head coaches who were fired and their coaching career turned out for the good. Matt Nagy was a great offensive coordinator for Alex Smith and Brian Flores great defenses put fear in teams playing them. I compare both of these guys to Gary Kubiak and Jim Caldwell, whose previous teams fired them only to sign with the Ravens and made Joe Flacco have his best success ever in his career. Kubiak went on to become head coach of the Broncos, went 12-4 and won the superbowl. Jim Caldwell became head coach of the Detroit Lions and went 11-5 to make the playoffs. Matt Nagy will make Lamar better and Brian Flores will bring back honor and pride to this Ravens defense. In turn this will help both of them get their coaching career back on track and have better success in their futures. The Ravens are a great organization in helping coaches who are down on their luck.
Coach Harbaugh trusted in both of these guys and the Ravens had their most success in franchise history. If coach Harbaugh bring these two to the team, the Ravens will have their best games since 2012-2014.

    Jim Caldwell
The 2011 season, however, saw the Colts sink to 2–14. Starting quarterback Peyton Manning missed the entire season due to undergoing neck surgeries, and without him the Colts appeared to be a rudderless team. Caldwell was fired after the season. Thirteen days after his dismissal from the Indianapolis Colts, Caldwell was named quarterbacks coach by the Baltimore Ravens on January 30, 2012. On December 10, 2012, the Ravens dismissed Cam Cameron and named Caldwell the offensive coordinator. On the day after defeating the New England Patriots in the AFC championship game, head coach John Harbaugh announced on January 22, 2013 that Caldwell would be the team's permanent offensive coordinator going into the 2013 season. On February 3, 2013, Caldwell helped lead the Ravens to a 34–31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. On January 14, 2014, the Detroit Lions announced Caldwell as their new head coach. In Caldwell's first season with the Lions, they posted an 11–5 record and made the playoffs as a wild card. They were defeated in the first round by the Dallas Cowboys, losing by a score of 24–20.

    Gary Kubiak
On December 6, Kubiak was fired from the Houston Texans with three games remaining in the 2013 season. He finished the 2013 season with a 2–11 record. On January 27, 2014, Kubiak signed with the Baltimore Ravens to be their new offensive coordinator. He served one season under John Harbaugh, replacing Jim Caldwell, who signed as the head coach of the Detroit Lions in the offseason. As the offensive coordinator the Ravens had their most successful offense in 19 years, with quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Justin Forsett achieving career single-season highs in yards and touchdowns. Thanks in part to Kubiak's re-tooling of the offense, the Ravens returned to the playoffs after a one-year absence. On January 18, 2015, Kubiak signed a four-year deal to become the head coach of the Denver Broncos and posted a 12-4 record and defeated the Carolina Panthers, 24–10 in Super Bowl 50, winning the title and giving Kubiak his first Super Bowl win as a head coach.

    Matt Nagy
In December 2017, with the Chiefs at 6–5 after a 5–0 start to the season, Andy Reid ceded play-calling duties to Nagy. Under Nagy, the Chiefs finished the regular season 4–1 and averaged 28.6 points during the stretch. Kansas City's offense, which ranked 20th in 2016, was the fifth-best unit in 2017; quarterback Alex Smith led the NFL in passer rating with 104.7 as he threw for a career-best 26 touchdown passes and 4,042 passing yards. On January 10, 2022, both Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace were fired by the Bears. Nagy's tenure in Chicago concluded with a 34–31 (.523) record in four season

    Brian Flores
Matt Patricia left to become the new head coach of the Detroit Lions, and Flores would take over the Patriots' defensive playcalling duties, but was not given the title of defensive coordinator. In Flores' last game with the Patriots, Super Bowl LIII, they defeated the Los Angeles Rams 13–3 in both a rematch of Super Bowl XXXVI and the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in NFL history. On January 10, 2022, the Dolphins announced that they were firing Flores after three seasons in a surprise move and despite Flores having 2 years left in his contract.[11] Flores finished his tenure with the Dolphins with 24–25 (.490) record.

He deserves credit for changing a lot in broken Miami. Probably why he was fired

He's a pretty good linebackers coach. Mike Zimmer was my choice initially until I saw his age (65). The Ravens just got rid of Wink Martindale who is only 58 years old. I think he is going to retire.

John Harbaugh fires Cam Cameron and replaces him with Jim Caldwell. Joe Flacco had his best playoff run to win superbowl.

But the most salient point is what coordinator will get the most out of Binjamin Victor?

Kubiak also got to bring in a some of his own assistants with him when he was talked into coming here.
