Now on the flip side, both the Bengals and 49ers won despite all the hits. The Titans and Packers did a great job getting to the QB and it didn't win the games. Having a QB who rolls with the punches and keeps going is winning football.
I'm going to call it "complete pressure". Because, even if you have inside pressure, if you don't have outside pressure or "coordinated pressure" then these elusive QB's like Mahomes and Allen will escape to the left or right or up the middle and extend the play or pick up yardage on the ground. But, having that "complete pressure" from all 4 guys is what gets those sacks and disrupts plays. The 9ers, Packers, Titans, and Rams all did an excellent job of that over the weekend.

Well, yeah, when they decide to actually use him

Rams are an interesting study. Trade their first round pick multiple years to get superstars and fill in the rest of the roster with cheap mid round guys. Finding gems like Kupp also help. There was a WSJ story on how they used his gps tracking info from the senior bowl to target him.

They are going about it like no other team

The Ravens could have had Cooper Kupp. They had shots at Kupp and Ju Ju Schuster.

They took Tyus Bowswer instead and sorry ass Chris Wormley just 5 picks later.

Every team could have had Cooper Kupp. He was available to all of them in round 1. We could have had Tom Brady too. You can play that game with every great player taken after the 1st round. Every other team could have also drafted Justin Tucker too and didn't

the trend this year and the way to win in the NFL is pass rush with the front four.

no pass rush, no victory. this has been the ravens problem for the last several years.

What's interesting is that on that final play where Stafford threw the deep pass to Kupp there was supposed to be more inside pressure. Lavonte David missed his assignment and end up in a zone watching Kupp blow right by him instead of rushing Stafford right up the middle. I do wonder if things would have changed if David knows the play.

Mahomes was doing exact what you describe. The Bills who don't have any top outside rushers weren't able to stop him from rolling right again and again. I do agree with you but I still think it starts with those pocket collapsers from the inside who open it up to the outside rushers.

Completely agree. Interior pressure is the bane of all QB's existence. You've got to generate interior pressure. Which the Ravens can't unfortunately at present time. Ideally that gets addressed this offseason with FA or draft or both.

What is interesting is how boring the first round was - total overmatched teams and then this week every single game goes to the wire.

Vegas has the Chiefs as 7.5 favorites over Cinci
