Re: NFL Coaching Changes (Non-Ravens)
I wonder if Hortiz is really ready for a GM job. If so now Vegas is a opportunity to build for years.
I would think NY would be for him since not far from Bmore to continue his work here in community if wanted.
Maybe if he does , he try taking some coaches from us with him.
Roman and Barkley can do some magic lol
Off topic , watch Carr become a Sqeelers

Re: NFL Coaching Changes (Non-Ravens)
Correct, plus ownership was signing off on that $100M contract that secured Gruden's services. No way a GM would make that decision on their own accord.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jon_Gruden
After nine years away from coaching in the NFL, the Raiders announced the return of Gruden as head coach on January 6, 2018
On December 31, 2018, Mayock was hired to be the general manager of the Oakland Raiders.

Re: NFL Coaching Changes (Non-Ravens)
If Mayock is gone, the Raiders should let the new GM pick their coach. If it's Biaccia, so be it, but it should be the GM's decision.
Chain of command is something a surprising number of NFL franchises don't understand. It was messed up when Mayock was first hired and it may happen yet again.

Re: NFL Coaching Changes (Non-Ravens)
So now the Raiders, Bears, Giants and Vikings all have GM spots open. The Raiders already have a coach who is listed as interim. Does that mean the new GM could fire Bisaccia late into the process when he can't get another job? Does it mean that the new GM will have to keep Bisaccia?
The Bears and Vikings have been interviewing GMs and head coaches and coming up with lists of coaches to be interviewed which makes you wonder if the GM is really going to have input into hiring the head coach.
The Giants seem to be the only team doing it the traditional way which is to focus on the GM first and then have that person heavily involved in the head coach hire.
It will be interesting to see which way works best.
