And why would we go down from 14 to pick 40? losing quality and the 5 year option so important

Big man Daniel Faalele, I'm hoping does well for himself but not well enough to move into the 1st round LOL. Would like him to be an option in the 2nd for us. Also interested in Jeremy Ruckert at TE in the late rd 3/4 range.

Ebiketie is just a bit over 250lbs, right? Has he played interior DL?
It ain't pretty, but it's us.

I meant him for edge actually. He played around 235 probably slightly lighter

    Ah, gotcha.

Edgar Allen did a short video on him a few days ago:

Superb first step explosiveness, I seem to remember reading he has been flagged quite a few times for offsides.
Looks a bit too much of a pass rush specialist for Wink but who knows.

There will be a nice group of heavier (265-285lbs) Edge/DLs like Logan Hall, Isaiah Thomas, Cameron Thomas that are probably more of a scheme fit and have at least some inside/outside versatility.

Senior Bowl is growing each year, kudos to the staff.

What do you think Jermaine Johnson as a scheme fit?

I won't pretend to know that much about DL play and I have only watched a couple of FSU games but boy you could see the potential.

We play so many packages and different looks you could probably fit just about any prospect. It is just that a lighter, pass rush specialist like Ebiketie strikes me as a Ngakoue type of guy you are not going to get the most of, whereas a heavier guy that you can move around and get pressure both outside and inside depending on the situation has a lot of value. That they can probably be stronger against the run is always something the Ravens value. A lot.

Arg, de acuerdo I wouldn't mind a trade-down, but it would have to be lower in the 1st round. The Ravens certainly have enough picks (7?) in the 3rd and 4th rounds already... Bc

I think he might rise. Originally I thought late 1st to mid 2nd but he might rise. Definitely a guy the Ravens could use. I agree with Edgar here and here's why. I don't think we can keep living with the Blitz approach even with Peters coming back. I just don't think it's feasible with the offenses that we'll be facing. We are going to need to rely on 4 more often instead of always blitzing. Teams have caught up to it to the point where they can actually bait Martindale into blitzing getting exactly what they want.

Oh I could totally see him moving up in big boards, he'll win his fair share of 1s on 1s at the Senior Bowl. And he might work under Wink 2.0. How likely is that 2.0 to actually happen is the key point here.

If we get the same Wink (and for the record, I'm mostly ok with that) then I'd rather draft a guy who can get pressure from the inside from Day 1 that has enough versatility to win outside and also stop the run.
