I find myself agreeing with her, and feeling bad about it. She's right in that politicans should be beholden to the voters. She's wrong because the only way to get stuff done is through compromise. I'd love for a Republican congress to be able to just pass whatever they want, but I also understand that we're a constitutional republic meaning the majority does not get to overrun the minority. It's a sometimes extremely frustrating system that works better than any other options.

We would see a lot more compromise and accomplishments if Congress weren’t such assholes and try to pass through 40,000 page bills with hundreds of things in each bill to include pork and other shady bailouts for people that don’t deserve it.

For example, child tax credit would probably pass if they just did a Child Tax Credit bill that was ONLY about the Child Tax Credit.

But then they can't try and claim the other side doesn't want you to get a child tax credit.

That is one of the first things I'd change about government. There is no add on to bills because it's too easy to fill them with stuff that has no bearing on the law itself.

This is the idiocy that poisons people's minds. People still believe that there is some sort of real pure compromise that can be had between the parties. Politics is overrun by corporate greed. Until that is done away with. Nothing can be done

Most of the pork is Trojan Horse-type stuff that wouldn't pass on it's own merits.
