Agreed. When I've tried to listen to the "debates" between he and Weinman, he always gave off a George Constanza vibe.

The Seinfeld reference is right on how the Weiman and Laconfora go back and fourth. I am a seinfeld fan but those two absolutely suck.


I like sports talk radio. While I am working I like having it on, it helps pass the day. But last few months its been really really terrible. I have found myself changing the channel to something else. Far too many damn commercials and the morons they hire just make it hard to listen.

I cannot stand Jason Laconfora, Ken Weiman or Jerry Coleman. Much like Tony L said, their program direction hires these idiots simply because they are annoying and play that character out to stir up listeners.

The morning show I enjoy. I can sometimes listen to the 10:00am-2:00pm show.
Years back when it was Ed Norris and Steve Davis they had a great show. Now, Ed Norris seems to be the third wheel and rarely has much to say. IT seems like Rob Long and Jeremy drown him out most days.

I think a better class of sports fans exists in the Baltimore, but 105.7 isn't interested in them. When WBAL 1090 used to have their daily sportsline show in the evening the quality of the listeners who called in was way better. Sure some yahoos called in, but it was the exception not the rule.

It's funny, The Sun has figured this out. Yes, they still employ Mike Preston. But their actual reporting staff is great. Much more detail than there used to be, including in-depth analytics, observation on scheme, etc. This is true on the baseball side as well. Their reporters are great Twitter follows.

So clearly there is a market for informed, high-level discussion. That's why so many on here are raving about Filmstudy's podcasts, and why he does guest spots on other shows. People want that level of knowledge. The Fan wants to do comedy and schtick, complain, and make Captain Obvious observations.
