    For about 6 months...

The drop in efficacy does not mean that it no longer provides any protection.

I didn't say no protection after 6 months. Maybe in a year it will drop to none, but since we're not there yet, at 6 months we see it declines by about half.

And that is still some decent protection

    Maybe, maybe not.

Personally I don't think the risk of the vaccine outweighs the benefits of some protection against a virus that poses little risk to the overwhelming majority of people.

No, not maybe, maybe not. 60% efficacy, by definition, provides decent protection.

And the side effects you are so worried about happen at a far less rate than problems with the vrrus thst “poses little risk to the majority of people”

I bet I can find more stories of the vaccine harming younger healthy people than you can over the virus doing so.

Didn't they do a mass vaccination in Australia for children?

Perhaps against only delta, but against other variants its in the 80’s. Ill note that even 50% efficacy provides good protection.

Finding stories and comparing like things are two wholly different things.

Here are numbers from canada. (since many dont trust the cdc)

What you need to know up to and including August 20, 2021
No new safety signals have been identified in Canada
    (three continue to be monitored)
    52,144,015
    Total doses administered
    13,445
Total adverse event following immunization reports
    (0.026% of all doses administered)
    9,923
Total adverse event following immunization reports that were non-serious
    (0.019% of all doses administered)
    3,522
Total adverse event following immunization reports that were serious
    (0.007% of all doses administered)
    226
New adverse event following immunization reports since last update
    (111 new non-serious and 115 new serious)
The benefits of vaccines authorized in Canada continue to outweigh the risks.
Health Canada, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), the provinces and territories, and manufacturers continue to closely monitor the safety of COVID-19 vaccines. We’ll respond to any safety issues right away and will inform Canadians about any risks that arise in Canada.
Of the 13,445 individual reports (0.026% of all doses administered), 3,522 were considered serious (0.007% of all doses administered).
