Most people would say he's merely confirming what took place years ago.

Apparently has no effect on the salary which will still be paid through 2022.

Nothing personal against Chris Davis. But his uniform number (19) should have been retired a very long time ago. Dave McNally wore that number. I don’t care what the career statistics say, McNally was and still is the best left-hander the Orioles ever had. He started two of the four games of the 1966 World Series, completing the sweep with a 1-0 shutout. That is still the most dominating WS in Orioles history. He had four 20-win seasons and played a major role in getting us to a World Series four times in six years.
