Which should not be terribly difficult in theory, and will also fit in quite well with the expected annual or semi-annual booster they are clearly planning to roll out.
My best hope, is that the current trend continues and each iteration becomes easier to transmit snd less lethal. Herd immunity will rid us of it soon if that were to continue. That might actually be the clearest path to “victory”. Turn it into another common cold like corona virus. As it is, the delta variant is trending towards influenza.

It might surpress viruses in the short term but they will always come back when you relax quarantine rules. The west is shooting itself in the foot right now and just needs to get on with it. Inflation and supply chains are becoming a real issue.
