OT: Fav all time Baltimore radio sports talk show hosts

Which radio sports talk hosts from the past were your favorites? I go back to the Ted Patterson days on WBAL. In the 80s there was Jeff Rimer on WBAL. BTW, Jeff didn't know the difference between how a curve ball broke and how a screw ball broke. But I digress. Most were mediocre - certainly no 3 W E legends like Cleveland's Pete Franklin or Boston's Guy Mainella over the decades...the best I ever listened to. Also are there any memorable play-by-play moments you remember? In that "magical" 1979 O's season after yet another unbelievable comeback and while a certain funky song was topping the charts, Tom Marr yelling "And here, on this night, 33rd street is Electric Avenue!"

I slept with Stan the Fan.

    Sorta.

It's one of my fond memories of adolescence.

    The Orioles game ended.
His show started at 10:00 p.m.
I had to wake up at about 5:30 a.m. to prep for school.
It all meant that I had about 20 minutes in bed with the radio, earphones, and Stan the Fan.

One of the great things about being a teenager during the summer is discovering your enjoyment of baseball, staying up late to watch the games, and staying up later to listen to or even call and talk about the games. And then sleeping in late to wake up to Bob Barker (and Dian) on The Price is Right.

Late night sports talk radio had a kind of cult-ish vibe going for it. This town needs it again. But it especially needs a competitive Orioles team that justifies staying up late.

Loved Charlie. What a unique character. He sat in with Chuck for a few innings during an O's game one time and it was very entertaining. I also recall Mayor Shaffer doing the same with Jon Miller. Jon let him do play-by-play for a couple of batters and it was hilarious.
