Now THAT would make sense. If they are betting on hyperinflation then assets are what you want.
Of course, every nation that has ever had the kind of hyperinflation we are set up for has had its government collapse. The rich might not ride that out. A pissed off populace with a weak government might install a new government that will take everything from the rich.
If you make your currency worthless your government goes with it.
If you ever worried about Nazi-like people getting in control then this should be your concern because that is exactly how the Nazis got control.
