    So much cultural cache associated with the bird. So much untapped potential to market the team beyond football, beyond a cartoon bird.

    Just think of the props. Top hats, monocle, bow tie -- call Mr. Peanut and the Monopoly Man. The hilt of a sword, a tombstone -- kill and bury, leaving but a memory.

    Cue the Goth kids from South Park and the cosplayers from Comic-Con.

    The Ravens had the opportunity to be the Raiders East. Having a heavy, brooding, suffocating defense (or defensive attitude) for years lends itself to something dark...and stormy. "It was a dark and stormy night....."

    Oh well. Suffice it to say I think this franchise could have done more with the name and identity.
