Even with the non-call, the Saints still were able to go up 23-20 with less than 2 minutes to go. Wasn't the refs fault that the Saints D couldn't keep the Rams from taking it to overtime or that Brees threw a pick in OT that allowed the Rams to win it.

He has to make the 53 man first, but once he does, I can imagine him going on IR week 1 and coming back for week 4.

If still injured Smith might get released to free up a roster spot to protect another player and then be added back before the first game. He is not going anywhere and he is such a team first player I think he would do it if they asked.
Interesting thought; if Jimmy's really okay with that it could finagle an extra roster spot on the team. Levine is another possibility.

Preseason Wk 1 update - not much to say yet, a lot of guys are being activated from the PUP list and many fringe players are being waived with an injury designation which allow them to revert to the IR for safe keeping for next season.

Iman Marshall and Khalil Dorsey aren't making the practice squad, cause they're going on IR.

They can still be released from IR with an injury settlement, meaning they'd be gone from the organization entirely.

I'd imagine that the Ravens would give Marshall the injury settlement, unless they're really high on him still.

They could be released w injury settlement & signed back later in the season if (please God, not again) our secondary gets hit w the injury bug for the 273rd consecutive season. (perhaps a slight exaggeration)

I doubt those are phantom IR issues. It’s pretty early to be doing that. Marshall seems to be one of those guys who gets hurt if you stare at him too long.

I think when he was drafted (2019 - 4th round) they were fascinated by his (6' 1" - 210 lbs.) size. Now in his 3rd year, with only 3 games/one tackle to his name, how can you still be "high on him"? ... Bc

It seems he is always injured - maybe it's gamesmanship but I don't recall the guy ever being healthy...

Man, the Jets. That organization's bad luck is rivaled only by its incompetence.
