Re: Michael Schofield?
From the 2014 combine
6'6 1/2"
301 lbs
9 5/8" hands
34" arms
81 6/8" wingspan
5.01 forty
24" vert
93" broad
7.62 cone
4.57 shuttle
No bench press
He is still listed at 300 lbs and for his frame there's not a lot of beef there. But he has a better frame to play OT in a pinch than Mekari. Aside from last season where he had COVID problems he's been an average scorer. I'm pretty sure he makes the team.

Re: Michael Schofield?
I feel like Powers is the most likely starting LG. He’s got some starts, and he’s been with us for a while. I’m no insider but that’s how I see it going as opposed to a rookie 3rd round pick.

Re: Michael Schofield?
Bredeson would be the odd man out. He may also be PS eligible. Mekari and Schofield are too versatile. Phillips might be the inactive, maybe even Cleveland.
It's possible Mekari gets traded but I don't see that happening.
But, knowing the odds, somebody's going to be banged up by week 1 and start the season on IR. Hopefully not, but much more likely with the three week rule.

Re: Michael Schofield?
It's tough to get a read on it.
It's hard to figure out a trend with the Ravens. On one hand, they started Hurst at RT over Brown Jr. as a rookie. On the other hand, they started Tyre Phillips over DJ Fluker at RG last year. Alex Lewis also started as a rookie.
From what I Hear re: Phillips last year, it was the fact that he picked hte playbook up so quickly. If Cleveland is able to do that I do think he'll push him performance-wise.
That said, I was told Powers showed up in shape this year, which is a first as a Raven."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: Michael Schofield?
I think that's where the big decision is as well. It's really going to come down to how much progress Bredeson makes. If he takes some big steps as a potential C option next year if Bozeman moves on it may heavily influence their decision. I'm excited to see him in PS where we can actually assess his performance.
I hope they keep Mekari. As the 6th OL on gameday I can play him at all 5 spots and I think he can play the 6OL role well too."Cause if you ain’t pissed off for greatness, that just means you’re okay with being mediocre, and ain’t no man in here okay with just basic.”

Re: Michael Schofield?
I don't make much of the Schofield signing. He's the type of guy you bring in at the minimum, but that's about it right now.
Starting 5 assuming health: Stanley, Cleveland, Bozeman, Zeitler, Villanueva
Core backups: Phillips, Mekari
The competition: Powers, Bredeson, Colon, Schofield, Smith
Assuming you keep 9 again, I don't see any reason why you'd take Schofield over Bredeson or Colon, and likely even Powers. Give me the youth over a veteran retread who hasn't been particularly good in his career. He's not the worst guy to have around just in case but I don't think this signing is an indictment on anyone. Just adds depth and another option should you need it.
