    Re: Michael Schofield?

"Michael Ross Schofield III is an American football offensive guard who is currently a free agent. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at Michigan.

On September 3, 2017, Schofield was claimed off waivers by the Los Angeles Chargers. He played in 15 games, starting five in place of the injured Joe Barksdale at right tackle.

On March 14, 2018, Schofield signed a two-year contract extension with the Chargers. He started all 16 games at right guard for the Chargers in 2018.

He started all 16 games in 2019, playing 995 snaps at right guard for the Chargers."

    He's a seven year veteran, 30 years old, 6' 6", 301 lbs... Bc

At first, I thought this was the guy from the tv show Prison Break.

I dOn’t know much about him, but I think his wife plays for team USA ice hockey.

He's a veteran guy that'll provide good depth if he makes the team.
    Let's win the f**king game.

He's played RG, LG, RT, LT. Versatile guy.

We have more quality bodies than roster spots. I sense a training camp trade if no one gets hurt.

Schofield, Powers, Bredeson, ColonCastillo, Phillips, Mekari
    UDFAs Ealy & Sarrel

Interesting: Ravens website lists him as OT

I love a surplus of bodies at high injury positions. If everyone is healthy for the last preseason game, EDC can flip someone for a late rounder, slip someone to PS, or they might have a phantom injury to stash 1 extra body for the next injury. EDC keeps making these low risk, high reward moves.

He's not making the team. It's a camp body

He was a 16 game starter in 2018 and 2019. He's only 30. I'm sure he'll have to earn a spot given the depth that we've built at O-Line this offseason, but I'm not closing the book on him that fast

Just not sure who he beats out.

We're pretty stacked on IOL options.

He'd basically have to win the LG spot. Not sure htey keep him around as depth when they have so much, especially recent draft picks.

Injury insurance + a camp body IMO.

Could be a good emergency/swing tackle option. I see him competing with Mekari for that role.

Mekari's playing LT1 right now with Stanley rehabbing too.

They're letting AV settle in at RT and Mekari is taking thoe LT snaps.

So technically he can play all 5 positions. Mekari is so damn valuable.

Can't have enough depth/options at a high injury position like OL.
