All depends on what kind of life you want to be set for. If he finishes the contract, he'll have earned somewhere close to 15 million in career earnings....being conservative, let's say 7 million after taxes, agents and other bullshit. If he retired at the end of the contract, that's likely 4 million or so in the bank if he already bought a house, cars, etc and was not very thrifty with his money. For a young man under 30, that's a great cushion to have in life, especially if he plans to do something with himself after football that still earns some money.

This contract is part of what is great about the Ravens. The contract is good for both parties. Edwards could have gambled on getting a bigger contract somewhere else and the Ravens could have paid him for just this year and then tried to move on using the 2022 draft. Instead both sides made something happen that works for everyone.

If I’m not mistaken, this move has thus far received a universal thumbs up. Various levels of praise, but no one has disliked the move.

There were so many of twitter fans wanting to throw Gus in for a trade for Julio, prolly the fans thats followed because of Lamar. Gus definitely doesnt get the credit he deserves out side of this fan base, he is a huge part of what this offense does and would prolly be a good starter for most the teams in the league. Glad for this.

Great signing. It's a really a 3yr/13.3m deal if you include the tender he signed for this upcoming season.

yup, this is a great deal for us, and with the cap going up next year $5m per season for the production he gives is a bargain.
