Re: What will Lamar's deal look like?
Pay Lamar what he’s worth!
I don’t care about him breaking the bank and not taking a hometown discount.
Ravens football is a lot more enjoyable to watch when he’s behind center. Football is for our entertainment, and Lamar is box office!
Side Note: Watching Lamar play for 3 years made watching other football games dull. It’s not the same anymore haha

Re: What will Lamar's deal look like?
Yikes. Didn't mean to kill the thread, so here are my predictions on Lamar's new contract:
1. It will be signed this coming off-season, so he won't play out his 5th-year option
2. It will average at least $40 Mil, probably closer to $45 Mil per season
3. It will be a lengthy contract (think 7+ years), but with a trigger after year 4 or 5 that will essentially force the contract to be renegotiated.
In terms of real numbers, I'd guess something like this:
7 Years, 320 Million, $130 Mil guaranteed ($45.7 Mil average)
Signing bonus: $80 million
2022 base salary: $5 million
2023 base salary: $10 million (+$10 million roster bonus)
2024 base salary: $15 million (+$10 million roster bonus)
2025 base salary: $20 million (+$10 million roster bonus)
2026 base salary: $60 million (Some combination salary + bonus)
2027 base salary: $50 million
2028 base salary: $50 million
In practical terms, He'll make $160 Mil in the first 4 season, at an average of $40 Mil per.
The 5th year is the key. See the salary cap numbers per year below:
Cap Hit
2022: $21 million
2023: $36 million
2024: $41 million
2025: $46 million
2026: $76 million
2027: $50 million
2028: $50 million
Obviously, this blows up in 2026. This is by design.
For the team: If by 2025, his 8th year in the league, Lamar isn't actually performing at the level of a top-5 QB, the team can take a modest $16 Mil cap hit and walk away ($80 Mil signing bonus, pro-rated over 1st 5 seasons) They could walk earlier, if necessary, and save a bit more money (see the roster bonuses), but the cap hit would be more severe.
For the player: If by 2025 he HAS proven himself, He will be in the driver seat when it comes to renegotiating a new contract extension, just when he is in the prime of his career, and just as the salary cap is projected to explode (Current estimates put the 2026 cap # at over $300 Mil."Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but NOT to their own facts" - Daniel P. Re: What will Lamar's deal look like?
Contracts will be effected by Andrews and Hollywood contracts. If the new wr has a big year production wise the size of Hollywood’s contract will be lower because we have cheaper options. On the flip side if Hollywood and Andrews both hit 1,000 plus yards their contracts will be a lot more expensive. If Andrews and Hollywood have a combined contract number of 30 million it is going to be hard to pay LJ the 35-45 he would get on the market.

Re: What will Lamar's deal look like?
Lamar just posted something on Twitter that could be a sign a contract is coming. Anyone for any more insider info?
