Re: Welcome to Baltimore Ben Cleveland!

Here is the interview with a Georgia Bulldogs film guru who specialises in OL tape and was a college lineman himself. Great interview on what Cleveland will bring to Baltimore...

    https://youtu.be/UWrEayqPH4w

    Some key notes....

All the talk of having to move from right guard to left guard isn't really a big deal as some are making it out to be. There are some subtle differences and nuances but by and large you are asked to do the same things from an athletic standpoint. Said he's more concerned about when a guard has to move to tackle or when a right tackle has to move to left tackle.

He said where Cleveland will struggle is if he is isolated with athletic edge rushers as he can be over whelmed with quicker guys which is not surprising given his size and mass. He said that there is no way Cleveland could play right tackle and thinks it would be a disaster. He thinks Cleveland is more of a high floor prospect at his age. I don't think Cleveland is the next Yanda because he just doesn't have the tools that handa had from an athletic standpoint... but he could still be a solid guard who makes the pro bowl now and again, Brandon Brooks for the Eagles is one of those guys.

Says he does haven't have the best medical history and has had significant injuries... so that's something to watch out for. He is older for a prospect but that's not a huge deal for interior guys.

On a positive note... he said he was the smartest lineman on the Georgia OL and was making the line calls the past two seasons in the SEC. Makes me wonder if he could be an option at C?

Cleveland is a mass mover with extreme amounts of strength. In pass pro once he sets his feet against DTs its all over, forget about it.

Thinks he is a day 1 starter in our offensive scheme and would have been a good scheme fit for the likes of the Browns (pardon the pun). But the reason he slid to the 3rd rd is because he is not a great fit for the more popular zone stretch schemes. Basically he is a 2nd rd talent for our scheme but a 4th-5th rd talent for a lot of other teams.

So I was thinking. What if OBj was satisfied to stay at RT? And what if, instead of signing Zeitler, they drafted BC and let him stay at his college spot of RG? We'd be looking at a right side of the line that looked like this from the back...

There is something poetic about the fact that Orlando's dad played for both organizations and the Ravens franchise was birthed by the Browns franchise.

Do you know anymore about his injury history?

Glad we didnt trade up to move up to get him.
