Pretty much every time the coaching staff lets a player who was previously depth on the roster takes over they always end up doing great. Especially at o line and edge. If the FO is confident enough to trade away Brown Jr. and then the coaches give Phillips the starting job, historically that means Phillips was a hit of a draft pick and is gonna come in and do well.

Hope you're right Shrubbs. He looks like he has room to improve.

Honestly I want them to sign both Villanueva and Kelly and am hoping that’s their plan. Stanley may not be able to start the year or may have complications in recovery and we may need both. I am fine with Phillips as a developmental guy, I’m glad they’re viewing him as a tackle now, but I don’t want to be in a position where we have to rely on him this year. He was terrible last year at both guard and tackle. If he practices well for a year and they feel confident he can take over then we can consider it.

He has a high PFF, pretty high, he's a good pass blocker, and his PFF has been 75 or above for years now. We're not talking about a 5 year contract at 15 Million a year here.

But, right now, the Ravens oline does not look good. I'm going to assume that they're thinking of Ben Cleveland as a backup. I have no idea what they think about the existing Bens, but both of the old Bens are on the cheap rookie deals, they've been there a year longer and they were drafted around the same spot as younger Ben.

This is the 3rd year in a row that the Ravens have taken Ben, a Guard, in the 4th round.

    2019 - Powers
    2020 - Bredeson
    2021 - Cleveland

    That's pretty crazy.
Must be a trait they evaluate for at guard. The name Ben.

    A quality of Ben-ness.

It seems that mock drafters of the future might want to identify a Ben or multiple Bens and examine them closely, it certainly does look like Bens are more likely to go to the Ravens.

At this point I'm liking Villanueva at RT and Ben Cleveland as 6th OL who comes in in the red zone offense, with the Ravens version of the jumbo package.

Let's not forget Guards Ben Grubbs & Bennie Anderson, respectively, too. "5G" worth of Bens! Additionally, they seem to like Bens @ Tight End: Ben Coates, Benjamin Watson & now Ben Mason, albeit the latter doesn't feel like a true TE to me, but 'tis what 'tis, I s'pose. Surely, there have BEeN other "Rave-Bens" along the way in franchise history that I am merely not recollecting at this current juncture.
