These kinds of programs are another example of feigned altruism. It's always a good thing to try and take care of kids that cannot fend for themselves...but the government just sucks at everything. Guarantee that most of that money is being used for other non-food items.

They were doing something similar in New Jersey where they were sending at-risk kids home on Fridays with a gallon of milk, yogurt, bread, fruit, etc. These little 5 and 6 year olds getting on the bus to go home carrying a gallon of milk and a backpack full of perishable food. Just completely idiotic.

Agreed. But ...some single parent and two parent families do legit need some help. Job training would go along way. But ....why offer free job training when it’s easier to control someone with $$$.

Some help??? At some point, people need to support themselves. The gov is enabling people to sit on their asses. $345/ per week per person is about 3x more than the average person spends

And? At what point did I say $345 was the answer? In fact I agreed it’s way too much. So what’s your point?

I know you don’t believe there are legit families that struggle week to week. Families that actually mom and maybe ( if there is one) dad work but have shit ass jobs because they don’t have a decent education. Maybe their not very talented? But they try , they actually work but don’t
Make enough to survive. These people deserve some help. Especially if they have children. That’s why I suggested job training. As opposed to a hand out.

This is just another step they are trying to take towards UBI. Smaller scale version of the handouts for kids for covid relief. Which was just a smaller step towards giving everyone money for covid relief.
Anything to get people to expect freebies. Heck every kid in our school district is getting free lunch because of covid.

Do you have any idea how much money these families already get?

My wife is a grade school teacher. Kids can get food for all three meals. During covid, they are given bags of food every day. The high school gives out fresh food everyday at lunch for anyone that drives up

They get a free laptop. Free internet. Free school supplies

The most event Biden 1.9 trillion bill already has $400 per child per month. Not to mention all the money these families already get from gov.

Like I said, at some point, people need to be able to take care of themselves. The dem party doesn’t think people are capable. Each time they add money free money to these people, it makes them less motivated to do anything.

Except keep voting Democrat. It's all part of the plan. Get the American taxpayer to keep paying for all this stuff, then have the recipients keep voting for the Dems, who tell those voters that they care so deeply for them. That and only that is the answer when people ask why people keep voting for the Dems. Good gig.

Yeah people who somewhat support these ideas dont seem to take into account what is ALREADY being given out. This isn’t about taking care of kids. The kids are being used as a front
