The Browns will be as good as Mayfield allows them to be. It's just hard to get a read on them because Mayfield goes from hero to zero often for multiple long stretches of 3-4 games in a season.

Longterm if this is what he is it's sort of the perfect scenario because the Brownies aren't going to go anywhere no team is without consistent high level qb play and right now he is playing just well enough to get his massive 2nd year contract. You might as well call him Baker Flacco

The difference was when OBJ got hurt. They were playing a lot of empty set spread formations and when he went out they changed that. Went to Baker under center, lot of bootlegs and easy throws. He just seems much more comfortable in that offense IMO

That's also what Stefanski did a lot of with the Vikings. They used a ton of 2 TE sets. The Browns had a bunch of injuries early to Njoku and Hooper and Chubb. Once those guys came back it was a lot easier to run that Stefanski offense. I see them opening the season with less spread and more 12 personnel groups.
