What? Socialism has NOTHING to do with it. Those for removing slavery from this country were in the north where capitalism and freedom was most prominent. The south with the plantations was more mercantile and of course the home of slavery.

And it was white men who fought to end slavery, white men like Wilberforce in the UK and Lincoln here.

Or doesn't that fit your 1619 Project narrative?

I like liberty and anytime a government does ANYTHING it takes power and liberty from individuals. We have been trading our liberty for personal security and safety for decades and now we have a government that no longer answers to us and we can't do much about even through elections. And it is growing. And growing. And our liberties are shrinking, and if they pack the court it will be at warp speed.
That is exactly why the term white privilege is a thing!! In your entire diatribe, you speak from the perspective of a white man living in America!

When this countries constitution was ratified, black people were seen as subhuman pieces of property and women had no rights! All this liberty you speak of was reserved for one identity! The white man!

The problem is that when people come into government to try and correct the atrocities that have taken place in this country for centuries, you look at it as your liberties beginning to shrink, when in actuality, it is the beginning of identities other than the white man beginning to recieve actual liberty.

Libertarianism in this country has only ever been a safe space for white men. Period.

LMAOOOOOOOOOOO this is how I know you have no idea what you're talking about. This ENTIRE THREAD has been about me saying that the color of one's skin has no bearing on whether they fight for the right things or represent my interests.

The WHOLE POINT of my posts above was to show that all skin folk ain't kin folk. I don't care whether you're Asian, White, Jewish, Latino, Samoan, ect..... if your aim is to do the right thing, then I support you.

Bandc you are a deluded Marxist who has no idea about how basic economics works.

Capitalism doesn't create classes, only government does that

Remember it was Capitalism in Britain and America during the 1800s that freed us from Feudalism, the class system was already in place thanks to Feudalism, but Capitalism was breaking those class systems apart and was creating wealth for everybody from the working class up to the top 1%. It was government who messed it up exploiting crisis to impose bigger government, higher income tax, and printing of money.

And saying that "libertarianism is the worst idea ever created"... you are talking complete nonsense. Libertarianism isn't even an idea it is just who we are born as, free humans to make our own choices in life. Its control freaks like you who create all these silly ideas like central planned economies.

That being the case, why did your parents immigrate to this country?

If you took even two seconds to read any of my posts above, you'd realize how foolish you sound. In none of my posts, have I ever said Capitalism needs to die or be done away with.

I have consistently said that Capitalism, in the way it is constructed now, serves only one class, almost exclusively. As MLK stated many years ago, it has always been rugged individualism for working class folks and corporate socialism for the rich. This dynamic has gotten worse and worse as the decades have gone on, and has even multiplied during the pandemic.

Hmmmm I wish that were the case. Unfortunately, this country didn't see it that way for many many many many many years.

It's funny how you argue that we're free, yet I have people arguing with me that a completely law abiding person must comply with every jot and tittle of a tyrannical police officers orders, or else they face the death penalty on the spot.

So tell me, who exactly are the control freaks here?

Capitalism is the best mechanism for the poor to rise up the economic ladder. Socialism will keep them there. Why do you want to keep the poor on the bottom rung if the economic ladder in perpetuity?
