Guy that's good on ST, knows your system and likely is damn near a coach when it comes to integrating rookies and new players into your system. As long as he hasn't become a liability yet, I don't see the problem with a move like this.
This. Coach on the field. Teammates obviously love him as well. I just hope father time hasn't caught up on him too bad at this point

LOL moose, I didn't want to post that.
I do like the re-signing because he's a low-paid, experienced D-back, who knows the Raven ways. When (if?) he ever shows he is ready to be put put to NFL pasture, then I'd say don't re-sign him... Bc

P.S. - BTW, he is also reliable. In his last years he's played in 127 out of 128 games. Many younger players, even back-up depth players, can't say that.

Damn. Was hoping we’d move chuck Clark into his role and draft an actual free safety.

Stay tuned. Levine is not the plan at safety

As predicted three days ago on the Fort post. They have similar value in terms of roles and cost. Does not preclude getting a rangy free safety to develop.

Sigh why do we always sign these guys way past their BFD. There was a time he was useful and one of the better ST players along with adding some versatility at safety.

Now? He's what 35? He isn't even that good on ST anymore.

Seriously? You have really studied his contributions on Teams?

If Geno Stone or someone else they add to the roster out plays him on teams and as a back-up, they will move on and pocket, what, a $400K savings. Will that make everyone happy?

He’s a minimum salary guy, he might not even make the roster and almost no chance he sees the field on defense. It’s not a big deal...

Fort is a legit quasi starter at LB. Levine is purely ST only at this point. They aren't remotely similar.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they draft one

Last time I checked special teams were still part of the game. And Ravens value that part of the game more than most. Plus it's a no risk vet minimum deal or close to. What's your point exactly?
