How is RCV ridiculous? You put the worst choice last and your favourite choice first.... then rank in order of either worst or best.... it takes longer but promotes non-mainstream parties.
Term limits are just the same parties that aren’t doing anything useful.

Makes candidates have to campaign and differentiate themselves.... not just with attack ads about the opponent being shit but something positive about themselves.

LittleG - You have to bear in mind that a significant majority of Americans are dumb and incompetent. To add a cherry on top, they're also inherently lazy. No one would participate. It's an idealistic fantasy, at best.

Term limits would still be the same two parties, true, however it would put a stop to these people sitting in office for decades, collecting checks from taxpayer dollars, and never really accomplishing anything. It would also create a system where new blood was constantly being cycled in ever few years. New Blood = New Energy, New Ideas. It also means politicians have a shelf life and they can actually focus on making a difference rather than focusing on reelection and staying in power.

It doesn’t stop other countries from using rank choice voting systems.

My absolute preference would be to merge 5 districts, do rank choice voting and give proportional representation of the 5 elected officials.... but that is far too complex for the average voter....

I'm so over the two party system that I could care less what Dems or Repubs think. I get that a politician may care because they're concerned about their careers. But as a regular citizen, I don't.

A big part of the Democrat platform is to use identity to divide along political lines. Hard to escape it when so many people think that’s how it is.

People should be voting on ideas. That’s really it.

I like your ideas - you get my vote.

If you don’t follow through on those ideas, I won’t vote for you again.

Ideas are bigger than party politics.
