It really takes us to 1990 with the Gulf War under Bush Sr. and the Afghanistan/Iraq (01/03) under Jr. to see where this narrative originates from.
    Without double standards something something...
I don’t think there was much choice in WW2. Can’t allow another nation to declare war and not respond.

I always say that he and the rest of the establishment are DINOs but then everyone screams that they're raging hard on socialists, then I present the facts of their careers, then everyone says because they supported gay rights they're definitely Marxist Communist Socialist Dictators, then I leave the thread because it's hopeless.

    Everyday this happens lol

Good. Now examine which times war was actually declared by congress and which ones weren’t

Presidents from both Parties have launched military strikes without consulting with Congress first.

Nam wasn't declared, but it was certainly authorized by congress.

Congress has to fund wars, so they eventually authorize them all. The last war where Congress issued a Declaration of War though was WWII.

    From the link I posted:

“The last time Congress formally declared war was in World War II. On December 8, 1941, war was declared against Japan (the vote was carried 388-1 in the House, 82-0 in the Senate). On December 11, 1941, war was declared on German and Italy. In June of 1942, Congress declared war against the Axis powers of Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania.

All other wars, engagements, police actions, invasions, rescue missions, etc. since–including Korea, Vietnam, Iraq I & II, Afghanistan–have been authorized and/or funded in some way by Congress without a formal declaration of war.”

You are going out of Your way to defend democratic presidents getting into unauthorized wars. There were authorizations for use of force for iraq and afghanistan. Congress now uses the war powers act and that was invoked. You should really ask yourself why you beed to twist and turn in an attempt to make the dems look better.
