    Gas prices

They are up to $2.79 here. Is there ever any hope we will see under $2.00 again?

Nope. Youll be lucky to keep it in the 3’s during the biden/harris admin.
But hey, just think how your fixing the climate as the price keeps going up as you are filling your tank.

    Re: Gas prices

I've always been told by "people who say they know the business" that the President does not control gas prices. Well, I'm certain the President doesn't set prices himself. But I suspect the President affects prices indirectly with policy. The price of gas never went above $3 in my area under President Trump, although I get his final year was COVID when most people stopped driving. Let's see where it goes under Biden.

Of course the president doesn't control petrol prices but any limit to the supply curve will raise prices indirectly/directly. For instance we became a net exporter under the previous admin, if we revert to a primary importer prices will naturally rise as well. Its econ 210.

The price of gasoline has absolutely nothing to do with supply and demand.

The gas price drop ,was due to covid and layoffs in the oilfields. Now that it's getting better the oilfields rehiring. I have plenty of friends in west Texas that were laid off in the oilfields out here in West Texas. They have been hired back and increased productivity.

Plug in cars are worse for the environment. Youll also have to hope that hone energy prices dont go up as much as gas
