That kind of thinking is what gets teams in trouble (cf the Herschel Walker trade).
Mahomes is worth a helluva lot more than 4 firsts...

I don't see why you'd have to include San Francisco in that trade at all...

If Minnesota is looking to trade Cousins for Watson, start with that. Why would Houston want Garoppolo over Cousins? I'm no Kirk Cousins fan, but he's a hell of a lot better than Jimmy Garoppolo.

Today I read his proposed trade scenarios for Deshaun Watson in his latest Football Morning in America column:

He offers a counter proposal as well in a three-team scenario:

Is Watson really worth either of these trades?

I'm of the opinion that this is pure insanity.

    Thoughts?
I'm not sure, but I don't think I can ever recall a QB of Watson's level and age being available...this is I think unprecedented. Therefore, it's really hard for me to say any of those trade suggestions are insane. It's no doubt a LOT, but I mean I think Watson is that great...give him a good defense and offensive line and that kid will win a lot of games and look great doing it IMHO.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Sounds an awful lot like Lamar doesn't it?

And a lot of other Pro Bowl QBs over the years.

Looked kinda pedestrian with a bad OL in front of him in the Super Bowl

Point being, I don't know if any single NFL player is worth more than 4 firsts.

Except Tom Brady. But he's not an NFL player, he's the Son of God. Or maybe Neo.

Then I guess you missed my point. It’s not close, it’s not terribly debatable, if he were put on the market, he might get 6 or 8 1sts in a trade offer..

I gave the comp of Cutler who would've been 25 at the time, same age as Watson. And he was coming off a year of over 4,500 yds and 25 TDs

Watson may be possibly worth that...but Kirk Cousins sure as hell isn't.

I've never seen anyone go for 6 firsts, even NBA superstars. So we will disagree on this.

Teams that give up a truckload of players/picks for one player... I mean, has it ever worked out? I can't think of an instance.

We’ve never seen Michael Jordan traded just as he was entering his prime either.

Anthony Davis. In year one anyway.

I believe several other massive trades have paid short term dividends but it always hurts in the long run. But some people would trade that for a title.
