Re: The COVID Cap Cuts Thread

One move that may make sense for the Ravens at EDGE is Derek Barnett. He is on the last year of his rookie deal, costing the Eagles $10.051 mil. The Ravens may be able to give up little in trade and give him an extension.

Eagles are also actively seeking a trade partner for Zach Ertz so they don't have to just cut him.

Even at 34 Desean is still blazing fast. Takes really good care of his body and has a track coach he still works with. I'm just over the old guys at WR... will be a nice cheap pickup for a team looking for a deep threat though. Packers would make sense.

That’s how you end up with Kyle Boller.

If you can trade OBJ for a first round pick and sign Wagner for a reasonable price, it’s practically a no brainer decision. Five years of a first round pick over one year of OBJ is the correct long term move.

If Lamar gets paid DeCosta is going to need all the cheap, high quality talent he can find.

As hinted at, the Packers cut Christian Kirksey and Rick Wagner

    https://nfltraderumors.co/packers-re...t-rick-wagner/

Packers Cap Savings: $5.61 mil (Kirksey) + $4.25 mil (Wagner)
    Packers Cap: $11.45 mil over

Discussion on their situation moving forward:

Agreed. Get a veteran stopgap at RT like Wagner and don't shoehorn yourself into drafting a Tackle early. Whatever high draft capital the Ravens end up getting for OBJ needs to hit in order to make that a successful trade for us. BPA is the best way to achieve that.

Our cap is going to be tight going forward, we really need another reload draft like we got in 2018 where you hit on a bunch of picks.

Panthers wasting no time trimming their fat, adding Stephen Weatherly and Michael Palardy to the list:

    https://www.panthers.com/news/stephe...eased-carolina

Panthers Cap savings: unclear (Weatherly) + $1.91 mil (Palardy)
    Panthers Cap: $26.58 mil under

Are they clearing space for a potential blockbuster trade involving Christian McCaffrey and DeShaun Watson? We'll see.

This is what I’m suspecting and hoping DeShaun lands with an NFC team. McCaffrey might be elite for the next five years, while DeShaun can be their franchise QB for the next decade plus.

Believe so. But considering they're in cap hell and need cheap help for A-Rod I could see it being a fit.

D-Jax still got a little something left in the tank for a contender looking to make a push

I have a feeling if Hollywood was in a higher volume passing offense he would be a budding star right now. Kid is a baller.
