Re: The COVID Cap Cuts Thread
I love this thread.
Thanks for taking the time to do this WNC. Hopefully some players shake loose that fit the "right player, right price" mantra.

Re: The COVID Cap Cuts Thread
Panthers defensive tackle Kawann Short is 32 years old, injuries have limited him to five games over the last two years, and he was slated to have a salary cap hit of more than $20 million this season. So no one was expecting him back in Carolina in 2021.
Now it’s official that the Panthers are cutting Short, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Over The Cap has changed their cap projection to $184,770,682.
The new Panthers number reflects this.

Re: The COVID Cap Cuts Thread
This won't be listed in the OP, but regarding the Carson Wentz trade:
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/c...of-colts-deal/
Philly will take, by far, the largest dead cap hit in NFL history for the deal; a total of $33.8 million. They gain a net of $852,928 in cap space however. This still leaves them way over the cap with $252.26 mil in cap liability to 67 players under contract. There will be more cuts and/or trades in Philly.
Indianapolis takes on $25.4 million for next season and similar number for the three seasons following that. All told, it's not a bad deal for them, especially considering how little draft capital they gave up. They now sit at $153.59 mil in cap liability to 65 players under contract, including their starting QB.
