It's painful at times...especially when I think back and wonder, "Was I so naive in my youth?" But then I remember: I was never young.

Worse is how insulting it is. It's the reason why I can't wrap my arms around John Harbaugh. I much preferred Billick's slick poly-syllabic word saiad to Harbaugh's chipper bull chips. At least Billick had enough respect for fans to hear their complaints directly and talk to them personally on a radio show. Billick might have offered ivory tower words, but he descended the tower to gets his hands dirty on Monday (was it Monday or Tuesday) evenings? Harbaugh, by contrast, seems cloistered, and with it gives off a vibe of insecurity-induced testiness. It makes him seem weak.

He can coach my son and coach my team. But I'll just wave to him from parking lot while on my way home.
