A little bit. Plus, Jim rightly corrected me on that one.

It seems like he thinks his job is done if the Ravens make the playoffs. (It is, in a sense. That's a successful season and the coach won't get fired.) It just doesn't seem like he has much interest in trying to improve to get to the next stage.

Meanwhile Kansas City won the Superbowl last year with the best offense in the league and they made changes and adjustments going into this season. If any team had an excuse to rest on their offensive laurels it was KC, but they didn't.

Yah, he didn't say that at all.

Did KC do anything at all with their offensive personnel this past year, other than draft a RB in the first round?

I don't think he's saying that at all. "We need to be more efficient. We need to be better. So, we need to protect better. We need to throw better. We need to catch better. We need to get open better. We need to do everything more efficiently."

That's 100% true. The problem with the Ravens passing game isn't a lack of volume stats. The problem is a lack of efficiency. The passing game in 2019 was much more efficient than this year's. (IMO largely because the line was much better. Yanda and Stanley, it turns out, were pretty good.) And receivers factor into that too.

That's where his line about not wanting receivers who only care about their stats comes in. We are not going to be a volume passing offense, so no receiver, no matter how talented, is going to get as many yards here as he would in a place that throws all the time. That's just a fact. But that doesn't mean they don't want, and can't get, a good WR. In fact, Harbs talked about wanting an Anquan Boldin-type. But a selfish diva-type who won't block and isn't interested in a play where he's not getting the ball (e.g. Randy Moss back in the day) is not coming to Baltimore.

And you don't honestly believe that Harbs is content to just make the playoffs, do you? Lots of valid criticisms have been leveled at Harbs, but lack of competitiveness has never been one of them.

At all? He's a football coach in a press conference so he's not going to say anything plainly but the tenor of his message was closer to "I reject your criticism. I like what we're doing." than it was to "We need to make some improvements." He made a choice to say that because the standard football coach answer after a defeat is to show humility and to say your team needs to get better. Harbaugh went away from that easy script to send the message that he's happy with the offense.

Not with their personnel but they changed some of their playbook and added new looks.

DeCosta said: "There's a lot of things that we can do. It's not all about getting the quote unquote No.1 receiver like everyone talks about."DeCosta goes on to say that they would like to get that piece, but there are other things they can do.

DeCosta: "There are certain areas of the team, and it's still early, that we want to improve." Harbaugh said he anticipates having six or seven draft picks and between $15 to $20 million of cap space, but "That's not a lot of money."

Asked about fixing passing game, DeCosta first brings up solidifying the offensive line, just as John Harbaugh did. "We throw the ball a lot less as other teams do and that's by design. We're a running football team. We want to be precise for sure. We want to be more efficient."

How will the Ravens upgrade their passing attack?Eric DeCosta highlighted pass protection. He also mentioned the team's young receivers. He wants the Ravens to be more efficient, not necessarily more prolific."We're a running football team."

Eric DeCosta: "I thought the young WRs emerged and played pretty well. Again, It's not a traditional offense so they're asked to do different things. I was really, really encouraged by Marquise Brown in the last 8 weeks. He became a legitimate play maker and a clutch guy."
