I disagree. They still have a talented enough defense to carry them to 8-8 even with a lousy QB. They don't have to go the whole 9 yards of tanking and wasting an entire season. Who knows what prospects will even be waiting for them. What if that draft is like 2013?

They could go the Tannehill route with a reclamation project (Winston, Mariotta). There's also journeyman level QBs who could hold the fort down like Jacoby Brisett or Andy Dalton.

They could also go the riskier route and go after floundering QBs like Darnold (if Jets go QB at #2) or Wentz. Then there's the ballsiest move which would be going after Stafford.

Tanking and just waiting for the perfect QB to fall into your lap is the most unimaginative thing to do and is what bad teams like the Jets do.

Damn, I forgot about that angle. Haven't really heard this get brought up. Not only that but the #2 seed was still alive, it's not like they had nothing to play for besides eliminating them.

I think Tomlin in his arrogance wanted to play the Browns though, thought it was a cupcake matchup. That thing about "gray faces" that JuJu said sounds like something he heard Tomlin say. I imagine behind closed doors all of that "Same old Browns" mentality started with Tomlin. I have a very hard time believing JuJu would make those comments if he heard his HC talk about how much respect he has for them during the team meetings.

That Steelers elitist mentality finally was their undoing

True, but a lot of Ravens fans want a WR similar to Anquan Boldin. IMO, Landry is the closest WR in the league right now to the type of WR Boldin was.

What were people saying about players taking the personality of their HC in reference to Vrabel?

Maybe Ben couldn't go and he rested guys out of sheer necessity?

@Chukwu77: Tonight we're gonna have a strong conversation about the state of the Steelers. Doug Pederson gets the🪓in Philly, and why Urban Meyer is a HUGE mistake for the Jaguars. @UrinatingTree stopping by for some Wildcard Weekend therapy too, should be🔥.
