With the makeup of the Supreme Court it is highly unlikely there will be any significant changes to gun rights or the 2nd Amendment.

In simple terms a scarcity mindset is one where you feel that there isn't enough to go around (which causes you to use less than savory ways to go get what you want). An abundance mindset is one where everyone feels there's plenty to go around.

This country specializes in creating a mindset of scarcity amongst its people. From redlining neighborhoods to demonizing social security or welfare, people constantly feel that there isn't enough to go around, when in fact there truly is.

As I've said over and over again, they do this through one simple principal. As MLK so eloquently put it: "Socialism for the rich and rugged free enterprise capitalism for everyone else"

The far left does. They also know they cannot do it at one time because gun rights are so entrenched. They will do it piecemeal, a little at a time. A registration here, a tax stamp there, limits on ammo

Agreed. But the conspiracy theorist in me says that when something does come along to restrict gun rights, it'll be shrouded under the cloak of bipartisanship. Stranger things have happened.

Yes, the vast majority of the left doesnt want to take guns from the population. They along with a substantial number on the right want background checks and the gun show loophole closed to prevent violent criminals and mentally ill from obtaining guns.

Can someone explain to me why the necessity for high capacity magazines beyond something like "cause the 2nd amend says so"? Ive always figured if you cant hit it in 10 shots you need to put the gun away unless your talking about class 3 weapons.

First - there are 100% those "on the left" that, if given their druthers, would completely erase the 2nd Amendment from the Constitution. To try and imply there are not is disingenuous.

Second - it isn't about "need". No one "needs" 3 cars, but if they can afford it and have the space for it, then who are we (or anyone) to tell them they can't have 3 cars? So, no - no one "needs" high capacity magazines. But you don't get to tell other people what they need and what they don't need.

You've obviously don't or haven't had much experience shooting. A two way range is terrifying. 10 rounds under life and death with fear and adrenalin isnt really that much. So a law abiding citizen has 3 thugs, not one break into their home, (because of scarcity they feel justified) all armed. 10 rounds is not enough. You lose your life and so does your wife and kid trying to change out a mag under severe duress. Criminals don't follow laws. The citizen should not be punished when statistics will have proven areas with the most strict gun laws are often ones that continue the most gun violence.

Maybe the culture of these areas needs to be addressed, instead of putting a false blame and laws that won't change much of anything except hurting law abiding citizens.

Note i never said none of the left...i said the vast majority dont want to take guns from the people. Ill bet there are even a few on the right that have faced experiences that have them supporting restrictions.
