Roosevelt was perhaps the worst in all presidents when it comes to economic affiars.

Throughout the entirety of the 30s U3 never breached below 10%.

    Abismal.
Before I even start reading this, I'm going to go get a glass of Dr. Pepper and some popcorn.

It's arrogance. Getting to the pinnacle of a field requires a certain disregard for everything else while breeding an inflated sense of our own importance. I remember sitting around with some colleagues at a dinner one night and the discussion turned to what effect we English professors have on the public's reading choices. Everyone of them said people give a great deal credence to our opinion on popular works. What a load of crap. Nobody outside of academia pays any attention to what we think, and that's on a topic specifically within our realm of expertise. That arrogance bleeds over into other areas.

I would state that passive influence is there. Economists are often quoted but only of certain political leanings....(STARES AT NY TIMES)...so influence can be there but the gatekeepers if you will are engineers of how the public can by and large learn of such a philosophy.

All I did was quote my graduate thesis lol. It's essentially a bunch of Sowell and Freidman type analysis on like 1917-1950s...with macro trends analysis up to 1990.
