    2021 O's

Despite the shortened season the O's showed some improvement over the 2019 season.

Will 2021 be better than 2020?

I think so but even if they don’t the team has been exciting to watch which tells me a lot.

Hope so. As a lifetime O's fan the last few years have been just awful. In a perfect world some of the flyers they have taken on in veteran players will work out and some of our younger players start to establish themselves as legit major leaguers.

On their way to a undefeated season with the season opening 3-0 win over the Bosox.

Perfect season intact - 4-2 over the Bosox.

Make that 3-0. But didn’t they start off two years ago something like 4-1 (including two wins against NYY)? And then of course they ‘came back down to Earth’. This time it seems more of a reflection of just how bad the Red Sox are. We at least won’t be finishing in last place this year. Let’s see what happens in New York before we get too excited.

Belated season prediction: 77-85, team era of 4.25.

    4-2

Lost first two in the Bronx in typical fashion (no contest). Thanks to John Means and the bullpen, won the third game in extra innings. Broke their losing streak there. NYY games are always the litmus test but they are VERY frustrating due to factors of intimidation and bad managing.

If the Orioles ever improve, the AL East is the proving grounds.

I’m hoping next year we start seeing the talent from the lower levels and start winning some ball games. Right now it’s a bit frustrating watching these guys. I feel for Hyde

John Means - complete game NO HITTER - 6-0 over Seattle - first by a single pitcher since Palmer in 1969.

For the last few years it has seemed that an Orioles solo no-hitter has been long overdue. BUT given the state of their pitching overall since Camden Yards opened in 1992, it is no wonder. Means, by far, is the only current Oriole who had any chance of doing it. His feat yesterday brought the team ERA down below 4.00. Hopefully, that is a good omen for the future.
