Re: The NFL is a laughing stock (except its not even funny)
While I understand you believe what you believe, please stick to the point and don't paste misinformed nonsense on this thread. I have had people I know including relatives die of Covid as well as severe hospitalizations. Herd immunity can only be safely promoted via upcoming vaccines. Anything else will produce massive deaths and long-term health impacts we know nothing about yet. Those "healthy" young NFL players and most young people will be fine - but the older people who they invariably come into contact with, as well as younger people with underlying health conditions, won't be. Just read Tony Lombardi's story: https://thumbsup247.com/covid/

Re: The NFL is a laughing stock (except its not even funny)
So you think the NFL should have made these guys be in a bubble for almost half of the year? Let’s not forget all of the players and personnel is probably 50x’s more than the NBA. Are you even thinking of the logistics?
Let’s not forget that no player in their right mind would have agreed to being forced into a bubble for half of a year.

Right. The NFL has this thing called a collective bargaining agreement and the players would have to agree to any sweeping changes like that. The bubble idea in the regular season was an absolute non-starter for the MLBPA during labor negotiations so imagine there was also little interest from the NFLPA in an 8 month bubble.

Re: The NFL is a laughing stock (except its not even funny)
Just to be clear, again, I’m not trying to make this about covid itself. It’s about the NFL being terrible at managing any crisis situation it comes across because of the interest of ownership and money. See any of the “gates”, the domestic violence response, the refs strike. They just don’t operate transparently, and bungle everything in the interest of money, which hurts fans, players, and coaches.
The NBA and MLB gave a shit, the NFL didn’t and are just waiting to see what happens while putting out haphazard rules and protocols, schedule changes whenever they see fit, and no actual plan. It’s a logistical nightmare that could’ve been avoided

Re: The NFL is a laughing stock (except its not even funny)
If this was a non covid season we’d all be more up in arms about the fact that a 5-11 team is in the current playoff formatting by the way. That’s number 2 on my embarrassment list

Re: The NFL is a laughing stock (except its not even funny)
The NFL wasn’t even in season. They had the same amount of time to keep it fair for the players given the circumstances and are doing a pretty damn good job of it.
They can’t put the entire NFL in a bubble. It’s not feasible. You are providing nothing else of value that the NFL should have done.

I’ll defer again to this list and tell me the NFL has done a good job at protecting its players and the games integrity

The bubble may not have been feasible in the exact format the NBA did. But the MLB? Limiting travel and isolating games in a central location? None of this has been even tried by the NFL despite having the most time to prep.
I’m arguing, if their plan isn’t working, they should shut it down and reevaluate, mid season, as the NBA did.
Want an idea? Everyone plays the rest of the season in neutral stadiums in a mid-country location like Texas (since theirs no hope or advantage for either Texas team). Everyone is in hotels, monitored by the league. No fans. Anyone who breaks protocol is sent packing for the year.
