Re: The OFFICIAL Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction Thread
In a 2003 BBC poll that asked Brits to name the "Greatest American Ever", Mr. T came in fourth, behind ML King (3rd), Abe Lincoln (2nd) and Homer Simpson (1st).

Re: The OFFICIAL Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction Thread
Ravens 37
Steelers 30
Rare game decided by more than 3 points.
Harbaugh is excellent with an extra week to prepare.
Ravens come out and have flipped the switch. No more practice plays. Dobbins breakout game. Steelers allowed to run it and put up points late, in exchange for killing clock.
Claypool abuses linebackers (as does Dobbins and Duvernay)
Thanksgiving will be similar in reverse barring significant injuries.
Also shame on the NFL for not flexing this game into SNF two weeks ago when Dak was injured. Fuck the NFL for not flexing this game last week when Dalton was knocked out and the cowboys turned into a laughing stock. A ten year old knows this is game of the week.

They can do whatever they want. Rules give an excuse to keep status quo.
Now, flexing to SNF isn't desired by the team, that's just for fans entertainment. Belichick once said when does he like to play, Sunday 1pm every time. Of course the players want it 1pm. Late games suck for them. They are out of rhythm.

Re: The OFFICIAL Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction Thread
no, T.
We know the Steelers had no qb and nearly made the playoffs, it took OT and they were in that last game with their 3rd stringer until he gave it to the Ravens with 4 minutes left. What happens to the Ravens if we have to play our 2nd string qb? We're a house of cards.
They don't draft/sign following trends (Tyreke/Deshaun, Gronk/Hernandez, etc) They concentrate on the same principles...their players are interchangeable...across years, decades, and even their depth chart...the next guy looks like the previous guy...
We've seen this cycle since our first Bowl...
You can't outrun them, you can't destroy them. If you damage them, the essence of what they are remains. They regenerate and keep coming. Eventually we will weaken. Our reserves will be gone. Then we go down. But never far enough to draft a stud. They are relentless.

Top Google search result - nothing spelled out in the article would have prevented this game from being flexed.

Re: The OFFICIAL Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction Thread
The NFL is not a true athletic contest. It's 100% legally considered an entertainment event. They can tell one set of refs to call a game one way or another and it's still fine legally. They have rules for whatever they want and "dust off" (Steve B's term for make up on the spot) whatever new rules they want.
They didn't want to flex this game so they didn't.

Re: The OFFICIAL Ravens vs. Steelers Prediction Thread
Which Ravens team are we predicting? If it’s the loose explosive Ravens then I’d go 32-13 Ravens, but if it’s the turkeys we’ve seen recently, I’d flip it to 32-19 Steelers. I’m not a gamblin man, so I get to waffle.
