Even when black folk try to get ahead, we can't get ahead. This country is still so disgustingly racist in so many different ways. There are so many benign things that you think a black person could escape racism, but once again, the reality of the country we live in smacks us right in the face.

What's amusing to me here is that assuming you are black and want to live around other black people, which should be your right if that's how you swing, then you can get the same house with the same schools, crime, walkability etc. 23% cheaper than in a neighborhood where people don't look like you.

No, it isn't.

It's the evaluation and appraisal from two different appraisers. And maybe that first appraiser hates him some black people. But that isn't indicative of systemic anything.

If they were being sincere about their "gotcha" moment, they would have left all of the "Blackness" (whatever the hell that means...) up on their walls and book shelves and gotten appraisals from different people. Then, compared the appraisal reports. There is nothing scientific about their assessment at all. It's bull shit. Sorry, but it is. This is like wanting to know what people's opinions of red cars are, but you show different color cars to different people. There is no statistical control.

Here is what you do with appraisers:

1. Have multiple appraisers come through...probably at last 3-4 different appraisers. The average appraisal is probably what the house should be listed at or around.
2. Have multiple inspectors come through so you have something to compare to the appraisal reports.
