RIP Eddie Van Halen
Just heard he passed from cancer. One of the greatest guitar players ever. Pour one out for Eddie tonight.

Re: RIP Eddie Van Halen
Huge loss in the music industry. Eddie Van Halen was one of those guys that made me want to learn how to play the guitar. I can't tell you how many hours I sat and listened to Eruption and tried to replicate it on my guitar.
Top-3 all time guitarist in my opinion, regardless of genre.
Not only was he a phenomenal guitarist, but he was one of the guys that pioneered the tapping technique, tapping with tremolo dives, and he was the one that invented the humbucker pick up for electric guitars by soldering two single coil pickups together on an old stratocaster.Disclaimer: The content posted is of my own opinion.

Re: RIP Eddie Van Halen
RIP to the man.
Personally, I always thought the band was garbage. Real trash. The worst of the worst.

Re: RIP Eddie Van Halen
I know a couple of contemporary guitarists outside the rock genre that I think may be as good as some of these
