Gus Edwards
Gus averaged almost 10 YPC and only got 4 carries. That is a damn travesty.

Re: Gus Edwards
Maybe Gus doesn’t make enough money to force calling his number.

Re: Gus Edwards
Looks like Ingram is our 3rd best option

Re: Gus Edwards
I know Ingram hit like 19 MPH on that run against the Texans but there have been times this year where he has looked absolutely ancient. The run early in the game to the left - one of the first plays IIRC - literally looked like he was running in molasses. Definitely think they need to reduce his role and pivot more to Dobbins and Edwards.

Re: Gus Edwards
Gus has seen 8+ man boxes on 33.33% of his carries. Ingram 23.08%.

Re: Gus Edwards
He had two good runs then pointed as his face shield and took himself out of the game. Didn't return for a while, not sure what was up but some equipment issue

Re: Gus Edwards
Agree about Gus. And even Dobbins.
I love Ingrams leadership, but everything about Mark's running right now says he should be the 3rd guy...he looks slow and doesn't have the power he seemed to have had last year.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Re: Gus Edwards
Gus s/b the number 1 back w/Dobbins #2 and Hill third. They s/get what they can for Ingram. Not that he's terrible, although he seems to be slipping. It's just that he's blocking people now.

Re: Gus Edwards
If they had leaned on Gus against Tenn last year, they would've won that game. Sad that they regularly relegate him to a change of pace back role.

Re: Gus Edwards
It was just clouded up wasn't it? An Andy Reid situation.
Roman seems to want to win with specific individuals rather than taking what the defense gives or going with the hot hand. He wants to run with Ingram and pass through Andrews first then Hollywood and no matter how slow they look or how many defenders are around them, that's what he's going to do, goddammit.
