    With this coaching staff? Easily.

No reason to think they won't beat us a 4th time until we prove otherwise.

One of the talking heads earlier said that it's not rivalry unless both teams win games. He ain't wrong.

Re: Can KC beat us 4 in a row?

I don't think folks should be too hard on the defense for this game.
    1) It's the chiefs, even against a tremendous 49er defense last year in the SB they scored 31 and 21 in the 4th quarter. These boys will score points
    2) I watched this game, and people need to understand, Andy Reid had a very special playbook for this game. Some of the plays he put out there were very beautifully designed. He really dove into his bag of tricks and had a ton of plays that would've tricked and tripped any defense. He also had plenty of regular plays in there that took advantage of our defensive tendencies (fast flowing, heat seeking, blitzing, man to man).
    3) The chiefs' offense had the ball for 33 min. And it would've been worse if our offense didn't get their shit together in the 2nd half.

Now what people can get pissed about was the offense.

Holy crap, they made the Jets offense look good. Seriously the offense was abysmal. The play calling, the effort, the execution. All of it. The most egregious to me was the O line. And that's not just because I'm a former OL myself. It's because they were that bad. Lamar never had time to throw, and the running lanes were there (sometimes). The OL was pretty pathetic.
And that was the difference in the game to me. The chiefs are better in the trenches. The chiefs DL whooped our OL Frank clark, Chris chones and company just bent them over. And then in criticism of our defense, we can't get home with 4. Our base DL can't get pressure. We don't have any stud pass rushers.

Honestly all this team needs is someone to step up as a pass rusher, someone to step up as a receiver, and 2 or 3 or 5 guys to step up as OL.

I do think that the team is missing Marshall Yanda. But Stanley and Brown need to put in some serious work and the FO needs to find a new center and guard and WR.

I truly think if the offense can step up then this team can go toe to toe with these chiefs. If the offense could do better then Mahomes is on the sideline longer for more of the game and the Ravens are getting TD's and not FG. It was the same thing last year. Yeah Mahomes had some big bombs that shredded the defense, but if I remember right Lamar and the offense didn't really start clicking and putting up points until the 3rd and 4th quarter. Anyway that's my take..............improve the offense, have a better gameplan, get some improvement out of certain positions and we'll be on our way.

    Harbs + GRO + Wink + Lamar = 0-3 vs CHIFS

We'd get killed in a snow game against KC. Mahomes had a baller game last year in the snow, I think against Denver. Snow would only neutralize Lamar's speed.

I think 5 or 6 the way the refs see the game.

Re: Can KC beat us 4 in a row?

This team has no chance against the Chiefs until/unless they can find some players that can rush the QB with 4. The defenses that give Mahomes and Reid any problems are teams that can rush 4 and play zone behind it. The blitzing just doesn't work...not only do our guys not get home at all, but Reid just did a clinic on how to attack over aggressive defensive game plans/players...the screen calls have killed this team going back to the game clinching 3rd down conversion in last years game. We have no choice but to play a ton of man defense and blitzing DB's we actually really need to help in coverage, the biggest hole on this team is that we aren't blitzing to give different looks and cause confusion...we HAVE to do it because we don't have multiple guys that can win one on one battles.

Mahomes will continue to score 30 plus against us which leads into the next issue...the offense is a front running offense. The offensive staff panics as soon it looks like the run game isn't going to immediately average 6 ypc. Any struggle that lasts more than a quarter and they are ready to throw the ball around like we are the Peyton Manning Colts. So if a team gets out to a significant lead or they play a QB that the coaches are afraid of, they abandon the run. Lamar looks visibly frustrated and looks like he's trying too hard, we still have receivers that just don't seem to make the tough contested catches when we need them and the OL is a mess.

This is a front running team.

I will enjoy this team for the most part because they will win a lot of games during the regular season. But they will not answer any of the big questions in a positive manner until they get their chance the playoffs.
Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

I see nothing that leads me to believe we can beat them.

Yes, they can and they will beat us again if we face them in the playoffs. For some reason we always seem to come out flat in big games. We can't play from behind well. And it seems to me that Lamar is only good when playing with a lead. A former MVP should be able to produce much more than what he did last night despite the coaches getting lost (yet again). I sniff another one and done in the playoffs. Heck, we'll have trouble with the Pats, Steelers, and any other halfway decent team on the way.

Going to beat the same drum in every thread.

No legitimate pass rusher = no chance of beating the Chiefs.

They need to be able to pressure with 4 guys and drop the rest into coverage.

Like I said in the game thread and others have said elsewhere, you can see the reason DeCosta went as far as he did in trying to get Clowney who himself isn’t really a top tier rusher. That was a red flag that people wanted to brush under the rug as rumor or ‘Clowney doesn’t fit the team’. Clearly they saw in camp what we are seeing now.

I agree. The last 3 years, our pass rushing has gotten progressively worse. And the beatings at the hands of Mahomes have gotten worse. I don't think it is coincidence.

Roman acting like a panicky little girl every time he gets down 10 points doesn't help.
