Behind enemy lines wk 3
This game was about Halftime adjustments by the D
From the Trib:
https://triblive.com/sports/first-ca...beaten-so-far/
Things I liked:
Starting 3-0 for the first time in a decade.
The run game, Conner ran well and rookie Anthony McFarland Jr looked really fast and elusive. He’s a guy to keep an eye on.
The utilization of the TE’s. Nice to see Ebron catch a few and score.
Penalties, only 2 for 14 yds.
Things I didn’t like:
Defensive lapses in the first half. Watson was fire, going 14-18 224 3 td’s
Ben looks his age, sluggish and slow.
Offense was 2-5 in the Red Zone. That won’t cut it.
Mike Tomlin loses another challenge.
On another note
Good luck tonight in what should be one helluva game.

saw parts of that game, the team still has that quick strike ability.
They haven't played any tough teams but really until tonight, neither have the Ravens. We will figure out how good the division is when the better teams are played.
that pitt/TN game will be a test

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
The Steelers should be concerned with their pass coverage. The pass rush is great, but if it doesn't get home they get torched. Even in that obvious passing drive near the end of the half, Watson went 75 yards and a TD off 5 passes in about 40-50 seconds of game time

Good assessment. As long as Ben can take snaps the Steelers will be a force in the division. The front 7 on D' keeps them relevant, period. The signing of Ebron was a very good move. He can do things that the other TE's can't. Will there be fans at either game this year?

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
What I was most impressed with was how Diontae Johnson gets knocked out early but the Steelers were able to adjust. So many other teams struggled when a key WR either didn't play or left but those older veteran QBs like Rodgers, Brees and Ben all found away to keep the offense moving.

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
No long ball for Big Ben anymore. He will live and die on his short passing game and running backs. Shut either down and he has no chance.

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
This is why Green Bay told Aaron Rodgers "you don't need any new WRs, we need to address other positions like backup QB". Which sucks for him, because better WRs still improve the offense and make life easier for even the great QBs. Case in point: Tom Brady + Randy Moss = NFL record for TDs and an undefeated (regular) season.

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
Was surprised to see how well Ben still moves around given his age and wear & tear. He did get popped on that one 3 and Out when they pocket collapsed.
But still running the ball and extending plays with his feet. Even if he looks like Fred Flintstone while doing so.

Rooney seems hopeful that a limited number of fans can start attending games soon.

Re: Behind enemy lines wk 3
Caught a little of the game, most of Q2 and a little of Q3. McFarland looked great. In general I thought the skill position players looked good, held back by the old & slow QB. Though the QB could still reach back and make a play here & there.
Thanks, should be good.
