Re: Joey The Jet
Robert Kraft, the Rooney family, Jeff Laurie, etc. There are actually quite a few exceptional owners in the NFL. Bisciotti is definitely up there. Whenever your owner is interested in a winner and not just dollar signs you’re in good shape. Community involvement is a big deal also. Some owners want to be winners but are too incompetent because they want to micro manage or can’t hire good football people to run the football part, others are just too cheap.

Re: Joey The Jet
More important than his football IQ -- however high that may or may not be -- is the fact that he listens to the people who have lived football all their lives. He may ask them to explain and justify themselves, but he lets them do their jobs. He admitted he did not know much, especially when he first got the team. He has no doubt learned a lot since then, mostly because he seems to listen a lot more than he talks.
You would think that is just a given for an NFL owner whose only football qualification is having billions of dollars, but at least half the owners in the NFL have proven otherwise."Chin up, chest out."

Re: Joey The Jet
Joe needs talent to win. The a jets have so little talent I don’t see anybody winning more than four games this year. Hope joe stays safe because the line is junk, wr junk and rb are junk.

Although JJ is somewhat of an exception. He was captain of a National Championship football team. He does actually know something about the game, like Al Davis did.
The bad ones are guys like Dan Snyder (or Peter Angelos) who are fans, but think they know better about football things. They run their teams like Madden or something.
How many times have you read something one of us RSR posters wrote and thought, "Damn, I'm glad THAT person's not running the team?" Well in DC, that person *is* running the team."Chin up, chest out."

Sins of the father.
I am actually very impressed with the moves John and Lou Angelos have made and feel like the team is leagues ahead of where they have been. My only qualm is what they have (not) down with MASN, but I suspect their hands are tied because of the dispute with the Nats.
